Welcome back to another gravity-altering season of the OWL! This season, with its new format, promises to light up the galaxy as some real heavy hitters go blow for blow in round one. Let’s get into the matchups for Round 1.
- Taylor versus Hyun-Young
- Honor of Battle award-winner Taylor and his Dark Angels are planetside for a pickle-ball tournament to challenge Hyun-Young’s Votann as they seek to mine yet another world to the core. Will the Lion and his (not so) merry men triumph over Buri Aegnirssen and his shortstacks?
- Dylan versus Erik
- Painter of the Year Dylan has gathered his little stinkers for an assault upon a Tomb world, coming face to face with Erik’s Canoptek Court. Luckily for Erik, the necrons don’t appear to have noses! We’ll find out soon if Typhus can truly infect anything, or if Szeras and Orikan can stave off the nasties.
- Josh versus Ian
- Ian’s Grey Knights find themselves pit against Two C’tan shards and Josh’s necrons during an investigation into warp activity. Can Castellan Crowe prevail against such monstrosities of the old galaxy? Or will the enslaved Star Gods feast upon their very souls?
- Craig versus Jeremy
- Jeremy’s One-eyed monster, Old One Eye, has set his sights upon an imperial world ripe for harvest – But all is not lost, Most-Improved Owl Craig and his Imperial Guard, led by Lord Solar Leontus, are ready to defend it. Will they prevail or be bugsnacks?
- David Versus Ethan
- For ten thousand years, the Space Marines have fought their heretical brethren across the stars. This battle is no different. David’s Salamanders and the forgefather himself, Vulkan He’stan, are bringing their Flamers to bear against Ethan’s Chaos Space Marines led by Cypher, the nemesis of the Dark Angels. Will the Salamanders do what the Dark Angels couldn’t? Or will the quest for Vulkan’s relics end?
- Jayme versus Luke
- Luke’s Lord Solar Leontus & A regiment of Kreigsmen were enjoying a nice vacation on New Hawaii, a tropical world. Unfortunately for them, Owl of the Year Jayme’s Votann decided that New Hawaii was actually an awesome place to mine for unobtainium. Will Luke’s Guard be able to defend against the greedy dwarves? Or will the Shorties claim this world for their League?
- Karl versus Tomas
- Suprising no one, Tomas’s Heretical Astartes led by Vashtorr have set their sights on an chilly imperial world, but luckily for New Alaska, Karl’s Raven Guard are there to respond. Chapter Master Aethon Shaan, accompanied by Kayvaan Shrike, look to defend New Alaska against the Arkifane and his constructs. Will the shadowy wings prevail, or will another world be claimed for the Soul Forge?
- Tom versus John
- A rematch for the ages, John’s T’au, led by Farsight & Shadowsun, seek to defend the Farsight Conclaves from yet another Tyranid attack. This time, led by Tom’s Subterranean Horrors. Can the old-man Farsight do it twice? Or will the Conclaves finally fall to the Hungry Hungry Tyranids?
- Patrick versus Cynthia
- A threat like a Heretical Knight House is one that everyone has to take seriously, and as such, the Golden Warriors themselves have risen to the threat. Cynthia’s Chaos Knights seek to make a statement to the Corpse-Emperor, and Patrick’s Custodes seek to put down yet another heretical threat.
- Derek versus Robert
- Robert’s Necrons, led by the Silent King himself, seek to claim the planet of New Toledo for themselves. However, New Toledo has a rich cultural history, and Derek’s Knights have answered the calls for help. Can Canis Rex and friends hope to defeat the Silent king and his pet C’tan?
